About Us

Akustikats are a duo based on the Gold Coast, Australia, carrying the musical hearts of Brazil and Argentina into something entirely their own. Their music is rooted in Folk Pop and Latin music, traditions built on rhythm, warmth and storytelling, and expanded through electroacoustic production that blends acoustic instruments with AI-assisted textures.

The project began as a purely acoustic endeavour, built around guitar, ukulele, cajón, harmonica and melodica. That organic foundation remains central to who they are, but Akustikats have grown into something richer: Folk Pop melodies and Latin rhythms reshaped by contemporary production, creating music that feels rooted and modern at the same time.

Language is part of the instrument. Akustikats move freely between Portuguese, Spanish and English, sometimes within the same song, treating multilingualism not as a constraint but as a creative texture. It reflects who they are: two people shaped by different cultures, now making music on the Queensland coast, with all of that geography folded into every track.

Their original catalogue includes the sun-drenched "The Beach Volleyball Song" and "Sand Sweat and Victory" alongside a wider world of folk and Latin music that is joyful, layered and hard to pin down in the best possible way. Based on the Gold Coast, Akustikats are one of the most distinctive Latin folk voices in Australia, warm like the climate they call home, and just as hard to leave behind.
